Chip has founded and run four companies. Most recently, he founded BroadHop which was acquired by Cisco and IP Commerce, while as CEO he grew it from an idea to $8B in payment volume run rate while directly helping companies like Square and Intuit launch their payment solutions. He has also served as an Advisor to PaySimple, Leapset and Loop Commerce among others in Silicon Valley. He has currently been serving as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Commerce Ventures. Chip graduated from Colorado State University. He’s fun.
Paul has been in the technology installation and service repair industry for more than 15 years supporting national customers including J.Crew, Gap, Express, Victoria's Secret, OfficeMax, and Costco among others. One of Paul's passions is mentoring youth. He's been a Scoutmaster and held other leadership positions within local Boy Scout troops nationwide. He recently founded an online rank and merit badge tracking application called ScoutMode. Paul earned his Wood Badge from the BSA (their highest leadership training award) and enjoys unusual facts and stories of the paranormal.
Guiseppi is a personable and passionate entrepreneur dedicated to the start up world and technology. He hails from New England where he worked in his family’s businesses giving him great insight into the challenges of that world. Recently he lead sales efforts in the San Francisco Area for Groupon’s local payments and POS solutions. After Groupon he moved to a start up called WiFast building and deploying smart Wi-Fi technology in local businesses. Guiseppi graduated from University of Colorado and when not helping local businesses with technology you can find him on the ski hill or playing music.
Raised in a small New England town, Alan is passionate about empowering local businesses. During his time spent focused on marketing and business development at TPG Capital and Goldman Sachs, Alan helped launch three new investment platforms and raise over $5 billion of private equity and hedge fund capital. Alan received a B.S. in Commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia. When he’s not working with local businesses at Boomtown you can likely find Alan riding motorcycles or pushing the limits of various board sports.
Katie has eight years experience working with tech startups in Denver and San Francisco. During this time she has managed many different areas including Project Management, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, and Operations. In addition to her experience in technology, she also owns a real estate company that manages eight properties in two states. She and her Great Dane, Goose, both love Mexican food.
Tyler is a Southern California native whose passion is online marketing and analytics. Tyler spent years working in New York City’s advertising scene, most recently for MindShare managing enterprise accounts for agencies such as MDC Partners and WPP. Tyler recently moved to San Francisco to join the Boomtown team and apply his expertise to the start up world. Tyler received his B.S. in Economics from the University of Colorado – Boulder. When he’s not developing killer paid and organic marketing strategies you can find Tyler hanging out at the beach with friends.
Daniel is an entrepreneur with more than 15 years experience in system architecture, web development, e-commerce, content management, mobile app dev, CRM, and social networking. He has founded and run two successful technology companies. Daniel enjoys living in the wine country of Carmel Valley, California with his family where he spends his free time on home improvement projects, alternative energy systems, and perfecting his palate.
Chris is a small town guy from a town just south of Austin, TX. He has a passion for technology and the transformative impact it can have on the status quo. After graduating from the Business Honors Program at The University of Texas at Austin, Chris used his financial training to advise and invest in technology companies at J.P. Morgan and TPG Growth. Most recently, Chris worked for Palantir Technologies where he focused on customer analytics solutions across various partnerships and industries. When he's not working with Boomtown's partners, you can probably find him on a Jiu Jitsu mat or at a live music show.
Scott has been in the IT/ Telecommunications industry supporting national retailers (Rite Aid, AutoZone) and financial institutions such as Wells Fargo for over 15 years. He has also spent time working as a sales engineer for CenturyLink where he worked closely supporting over 100 local government agencies providing IT and carrier solutions to replace 40,000 user endpoints. Not a small feat! Scott enjoys coaching his son's little league baseball and soccer teams or as Scott says “herding cats”.
Tim leads Strategy and Corporate Development efforts for Blackhawk Network where he is in charge of connecting Blackhawk Digital and its robust retailer network into numerous mobile and digital commerce platforms and partners. Prior to joining Blackhawk Network, Tim was the Managing Director for Market Platform Dynamics where he advised corporate executives on innovation and growth strategies in the mobile, social media, advertising, and payments industries. Prior to MPD Tim was Visa’s Global Head of Product Innovation and Development, where he helped lead the global restructuring and IPO for Visa Inc and managed Visa’ global digital business P&Ls.
Gilbert is a kid-at-heart from a little slice of heaven called Boulder, CO. He is passionate about bringing novel solutions to stubborn problems, and is excited to be growing a new business model in an industry ripe for modernization. Gilbert graduated from the College of Wooster with a degree in Business Economics, then spent six years at J.P. Morgan trading various financial products before deciding to ditch his accumulated institutional knowledge and travel the world with his fiancée. A proverbial rolling stone, Gilbert is proud to call the Bay Area home after stints in Miami, New York, and Los Angeles. When he's not in the office you'll probably find him out running or planning his next international adventure.
Jenna was part of the founding team of Braintree Payments as Vice President of Sales, and employee number three. She was responsible for acquiring their largest and fastest growing customers including AirBnb, Uber, HotelTonight and LivingSocial. She’s active as a mentor in the start-up community, an advisor for ReplyBuy and ScoutMode, and a local host for the Founding Moms organization. Jenna graduated from the University of Illinois with Honors in Media Communications.
John was President of Visa Inc. from October 2009 until March 2013 and as Chief Operating Officer from 2007. John joined Visa in 1999 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Inovant the company that owns and operates VisaNet, an electronic payment processing network. Prior to that, John served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Unum Provident Corp., a disability insurance company, and had direct responsibility for technology and operations. From 1989 to 1998, John was Executive Vice President for Credicorp Inc., where he was responsible for consumer banking, technology and operations. Prior to joining Credicorp Inc., John held various management positions with Wells Fargo Bank. He currently serves as a Board Member of Global Payments, Inc. and CIGNA Corporation. John graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. John and his wife live across the Golden Gate channel from San Francisco in Belvedere.
Michael is a Product Manager on Facebook Ads. Michael spent seven years at oDesk, the largest online labor marketplace, where he ran payments before taking the reins of the product organization. Before that, he spent five years as a management consultant in technology and healthcare. He serves as an advisor to 500 start-ups and is on the Bay Area Executive Board of the Spark Program, a non-profit organization that places underserved middle school students into professional apprenticeships to learn critical life skills. He graduated from Yale University.
Randy Reddig is part of the founding team at Square, the revolutionary service making commerce easy for everyone. Randy began his career building award-winning independent video games, then art and technology for Bungie, Id Software, Activision, and EA. He later built search engines at AltaVista and led product and engineering teams for Six Apart. Prior to Square, he founded nb.io, a product consultancy for early-stage technology startups. Randy currently lives in San Francisco and leads international financial institution partnerships for Square.
Dickson is an accomplished General Manager and innovative product builder with over 25 years experience working at the intersection of financial services, customer insights and the strategic use of technology. Most recently Dickson was SVP Merchant Solutions at LivingSocial where he was charged with creating a new business unit to go beyond the ‘daily deal’. Prior to LivingSocial he was Managing Director, Digital Networks at Citi where he lead Citi’s efforts to create and launch Google Wallet. Prior to joining Citi, Dickson was Vice President of Global Product and Experience for PayPal Inc. In this role, he led product strategy, development and user experience design for the millions of PayPal consumers and merchant customers around the world. He is currently an investor and active advisor to a number of emerging companies in the Commerce space.
